ALAN BUSTEED  

   Violinist and violist Alan Busteed has played with the Fort Worth and San Diego Symphony Orchestras on both instruments. As a former professor at the Academia Nacional de Orquestra in Portugal, he presented well over a hundred solo recitals in that capacity. During his seven years in Lisbon he also concertized as a member of Quarteto Metropolis.

   Since his arrival in Los Angeles in 2005, Mr. Busteed has served as a visiting principal player in several area orchestras. He has been a been a guest principal on viola with the San Diego Chamber Orchestra and the Asian-American Philharmonic in Los Angeles. On violin he has been a frequent guest concertmaster of the Orquesta de Baja California, across the border in Mexico, and performed this year as principal second violinist and assistant concertmaster for the Fresno Philharmonic. He has joined forces with the Pacific, Long Beach and Desert Symphonies and is a regular first violinist for the St. Matthew's Chamber Orchestra. He has toured as Mezzo-violinist with the Hutchins Consort of specialized string instruments and has recently appeared in recital with the Los Angeles-based "Arpa y Aulos" flute and harp duo on several distinguished concert series'. He enjoys his work as violin soloist for several emerging film composers. Alan Busteed is proud to join up with the sleek orchestra in Santa Barbara and he really likes the scenery!
