JEFFREY WHITE
 
27 year-old American cellist Jeffrey White, from Troy, Michigan began his cello studies at age
11 with Richard Piippo. After studying with Hans
Jorgen Jensen at Northwestern University he
headed to California and in the spring of 2005
he received his Masters in Music Performance
from the USC Thornton School of Music while studying with
Ronald Leonard.
   Since graduating he has made Hollywood, CA his new home and is juggling a busy schedule of teaching and freelancing, performing with the LA Opera, LA Master Chorale, and New West
Symphony Orchestras among other groups. In addition to live performance, Jeffrey has also worked in various film/tv sessions including Family Guy and American Dad.
   His many awards and honors include first prizes in the Michigan MTNA Solo Competition, the MASTA Chamber Music Competition, along with performances in the 2000 Stulberg and 2002 Klein International String Competitions.
   Mr. White is an alumnus of the Mancini Institute, Meadowmount School of Music, Interlochen Summer Academy, Kneisel Hall Chamber Music Festival, and the Music Academy of the West, where he served as principal cello.
   In 2005 Jeffrey was a concerto soloist on baroque cello with the USC Early Music Ensemble and also enjoyed a trip with the American Youth Symphony to perform at Carnegie Hall. In addition, he is extremely honored to have performed for the legendary Bernard Greenhouse in a live masterclass sponsored by the Detroit Cello Society.
   As an artist with many other interests and passions, Jeffrey is a fervent formula 1 racing fan, classic car nut, watch aficionado and collector, motorcycle/scooter enthusiast, who enjoys cycling, tennis, golf, exploring the outdoors, dining out, and meeting new people.
