NEIL GARBER
    Neil Garber is originally from New York City where he began his studies with Donald Palma. After attending the HS for the Performing Arts, he earned a Bachelors and Master’s degree from the Juilliard School where he studied with Homer Mensch. After moving to California, he attended USC, receiving a certificate in Advanced Studies. He is an active freelance bassist in the Santa Barbara to Los Angeles area, performing with varied groups including Opera Santa Barbara, Los Angeles Opera, Santa Barbara Chamber Orchestra and Santa Barbara Oratorio Society. He is the double bass instructor at UC Santa Barbara. When not playing or teaching, Neil is an avid cyclist and scuba diver. He also plays the ukulele.
