NICK RECUBER

Nick Recuber, 25, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, began his studies on Double Bass at age 14. Being first interested in jazz he completed his Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Studies from the Maynard Ferguson Institute of Jazz at Rowan University, New Jersey. Eventually becoming more attracted to classical music Mr. Recuber was accepted as a scholarship student at The Juilliard School under the tutelage of Ms. Orin O’Brien. Currently he is a fellowship student at The University of Southern California, where he was appointed Principal Bass of the USC Orchestra for the ’07-08 season. Mr. Recuber has also served as Principal Bass for The Juilliard Orchestra on its centinal tour last year. He has performed with such notable jazz musicians as Maynard Ferguson, Randy Brecker, Joe Morello, and Chris Vadala. Mr. Recuber also has participated in The Pacific Music Festival in Sapporo, Japan, The Music Academy of the West, and The Orvieto Festival in Umbria, Italy.
