SARAH BACH
A native of
West Dundee, IL, Sarah Bach began her formal musical training in Rochester,
NY at the Eastman School of Music where she studied with Verne Reynolds and
Peter Kurau. After graduation she moved to Miami Beach, FL to join the New
World Symphony under the direction of Michael Tilson Thomas. During her
three year tenure with the orchestra she toured extensively throughout
Europe and North America, recorded on the RCA Victor Label, and was an
active participant in the orchestra’s community outreach program. Sarah
received her master’s degree from Rice University where she studied with
William VerMeulen. While in Houston, Sarah performed with the Houston, San
Antonio and Kansas City Symphonies as well as the Houston Grand Opera.
Other teachers Sarah has studied with include, John Cerminaro, Bruce
Henniss, Randall Faust and Ethel Merker.
Since moving to Los Angeles, Sarah has enjoyed an active freelance
career. She is a member of the Santa Barbara, Riverside, and San Bernardino
Symphonies and performs regularly with the Pacific, Opera Pacific, Los
Angeles, Redlands, and Pasadena Pops Symphonies/Orchestras. In the spring
of 2006 Sarah participated in the Pacific Symphony’s European Tour
concertizing in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Recently Sarah performed
the world premiere of Peter Ash’s Keeper’s of the Night with the LA
Children’s Chorus conducted by Grant Gershon.
Besides her involvement with the Crown City Brass Quintet, Sarah
enjoys playing chamber music in a variety of settings throughout Southern
California. She has performed on the Project Accidental, Zebulon Project at
Boston Court, Mansions and Music, Art Night Pasadena, Chamber Music
Palisades, and South Bay Chamber Music Society’s concert series as well as
with the Mladi Chamber Orchestra.
In addition to performing, Sarah maintains a private teaching studio
with students of all ages and musical levels. Sarah is on the faculty of
the Pasadena Conservatory of Music, Academy of Creative Education, and the
Laurel Hall School.
Sarah resides in Glendale with her husband Damon Zick and their
beloved dog Bernard. |
