  CONCERTS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE 2010

For over 50 years, the Santa Barbara Symphony has been introducing 4th, 5th and 6th graders to the wonders of the orchestra through Concerts for Young People, an interactive and kid-friendly live symphonic concert. Concerts for Young People are free to both students and teachers.

For 2010, we are bringing your students The Remarkable Farkle McBride, which covers the struggle of Farkle McBride to choose an instrument that fits his personality. This year, local composer Cody Westheimer will be writing a piece just for Concerts for Young People and it will feature many of the instruments in the orchestra.

Bring your 4th, 5th, and 6th graders to The Granada for a great youth concert! The program illustrates each family of instruments both individually and in cooperation with the rest of the orchestra, and features young soloists from the Santa Barbara Youth Symphony. All concerts this season will be led by Maestro Nir Kabaretti.
