Program Notes

Mahler’s Symphony No. 6 exerts an almost hypnotic hold on listeners. Brooding and combative in mood, it is relentlessly compelling, yet astonishingly life-affirming. This immensely powerful work for nearly 100 players is truly orchestral in scope, presenting ample opportunity for listeners to revel in its sonic glories. This is symphonic music at its best!

Nir Kabaretti, Conductor
