PLEASE READ - March 5 2020: A Message from the Santa Barbara Symphony About the COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

Posted: March 05, 2020

(March 5, 2020) Here at the Santa Barbara Symphony, we feel deeply connected to our community and our patrons. We understand that the current situation regarding the COVID-19 (coronavirus) has triggered concern. We want to take this moment to make you aware of the actions we are initiating to help keep all of us safe.

The Santa Barbara Symphony is committed to the health and safety of our musicians, visiting artists, employees, and patrons. As we continue to monitor the global situation surrounding the COVID-19 (coronavirus), we are receiving updates from Santa Barbara County Public Health Department and the City of Santa Barbara.

At this time, all concerts and events will occur as scheduled. If we receive the recommendation to cancel events, we will prioritize the health of our audience, musicians, and staff by implementing and communicating appropriate changes that ensure a safe environment. In the event of a cancelation, we’ll notify all ticketholders by email before the concert. The latest updates will be posted on our website, and the Santa Barbara Symphony voicemail will also be updated if there are any changes to the schedule.

We are working with the management and staff at the Granada Theatre on next steps, including the implementation of precautionary measures in the facility. We will keep you updated about these sanitization, disinfection, and protection measures as more information becomes available. We also highly encourage those who feel unwell or who may be at increased risk to stay home.

We know our customers are thinking carefully about purchasing tickets for future performances. We are currently working on a solution that will allow us to make adjustments if necessary. In the meantime, current subscribers may email us at or call (805) 898-9386 for questions about tickets to upcoming events. Single ticket holders should contact the Granada Theatre at (805) 899-2222.

In recent years, Santa Barbara has faced many difficult situations, but our community always comes together to support each other. As we prepare for yet another challenge, we are confident that we will all once again unite and persevere.

From all of us here at the Santa Barbara Symphony, stay safe, stay healthy, and we’ll see you soon.
